Cronulla/Cape Solander/Whale Watching!!! - 21 km

We meet outside Cronulla train station by 9:30am and head out for the Gunnamatta Bay loop, which showcases Port Hacking and the Royal National Park, before stopping for morning tea at Cronulla north beach.

After morning tea we head off for Cape Solander via the lagoon at Boat Harbour and the stunning Cape Bailey track. We stop at Cape Solander for lunch. THERE ARE NO SHOPS AT THIS LOCATION, SO MEMBERS MUST BRING YOUR LUNCH.

After lunch, we head into the Botany Bay National park and through to the site of the landing of the HMS Endeavour, commanded by Captain James Cook on 28 April 1770, and other points of interest at this historic location.

We finish the day with a walk along the Botany Bay foreshore and a tasty beer at Kurnell Community Club, before catching a bus back to Cronulla train station.

We should complete this walk by about 4:00 pm.

Distance: 21 km

Type of Walk: Water, water, all the way, combined with history and national parks and --- whales!!!

Difficulty: Medium, because of the distance.

Walking Pace: We will maintain a steady pace all day and average 4 km per hour.

Meeting Place and Transport: Please ensure you are at Cronulla Train Station by no later than 9:30 am. Transport back is by bus to Cronulla Station.

What to bring: Good walking shoes; 1.5-2 litres of water, refill available along the way; hydralytes; one snack and one lunch; light rain jacket depending on conditions; sunscreen and a cap or hat with a wide brim. MEMBERS CAN PURCHASE FOOD AT OUR MORNING TEA BREAK BUT NOT AT THE LUNCH STOP. SO BRING YOUR LUNCH!!

Whale Watching: Bondi to Maroubra!!! 18km Medium

Circular Quay

Whale Watching Day!!! Watson’s Bay to Maroubra 18 km (Medium)

We ferry from Circular Quay to Watsons Bay and commence our walk out of South Head, and along the Federation walk, navigating Diamond Bay and Dover Heights before dropping down to North Bondi.

Leaving Bondi Beach behind, we strike out for Tamarrama and Bronte, where we stop for a nice lunch break of 45 minutes.

Following lunch we head for Maroubra via Clovelly and Coogee Beaches. We stop at Mistral Point before marching into Maroubra where we will invade the Maroubra Seals Club for a tasty beer (and food if desired - its pretty tasty, I have to say!), before grabbing a bus back to the City.

The ocean front scenery on this walk is stunning!

Hopefully we will spot Humpback whales during the day; it is likely that we will.

We should arrive at Maroubra by about 4:30pm.

Oh, please make sure you bring photo ID, to gain entrance to the Maroubra Seals Club.

Distance: 18 km

Type of Walk: This wonderful Sunday walk is water, water, all the way! Almost the entire walk is along ocean front promenades.

Difficulty: Medium, because of the distance. If you are unsure about the distance but would like to test yourself this is a walk for you: there are plenty of get-out points.

Walking Pace: We will maintain a steady pace all day and average 4 km per hour.

Meeting Place and Transport: We catch the Watsons Bay Ferry from Circular Quay Wharf 2. The Ferry leaves Circular Quay at 9:45 am and arrives at Watsons Bay at 10:08am. Transport back from Maroubra is by bus; it is a high frequency service.

What to bring: Good walking shoes/boots or trainers; 1.5 litres of water, refill available along the way; hydralytes; one snack and one lunch; light rain jacket depending on conditions; sunscreen and a cap or hat with a wide brim. LUNCH CAN BE PURCHASED AT BRONTE.

Rediscovering Sydney! Lindfield - Manly - Epic Bush + Manly Dam! 25km (Med/Hard)

Details: Lindfield Train Station to Manly via Epic Bushwalking Tracks and Manly Dam!! (Medium/Hard)

We meet adjacent to Lindfield Train Station by 8:30 am, on Lindfield Avenue just outside Goodfields Eatery - its serves great coffee, so get their early if you want one!

Underway by no later than 8:40am, we hit the backstreets to find Two Creeks Track and a spectacular bush walk taking us 8km to Davidson Park, for morning tea and a bathroom. Refreshed, we strike out for Killarney Heights, Natural Arch, Bluff Track and Timber Getters Track which leads through 8km of wonderful bush walking to Seaforth Oval for lunch and another bathroom break.

After lunch, its 9km to go along bush tracks behind Wakehurst Golf Course which wend down to the impressive Manly Dam. After walking across the Dam Wall (yes, we can!) we head for Passmore Oval and pick up Manly Creek which we follow through to Manly Lagoon and the beachfront at Queenscliff. Manly Beach promenade takes us to The Corso and Manly Ferry Wharf/Bus Interchange for transport out.

We should be at Manly Ferry Wharf by 4.45 pm.

Distance: 25 km

Type of Walk: This walk is a full day adventure. More than 50% is spectacular bush walking with amazing highlights such as Manly Dam thrown in just for fun!

Difficulty: Medium/Hard, because of the distance and the challenging bush walking, which includes some moderate/challenging climbs. There are get out points at both morning tea and lunch break.

Walking Pace: We will maintain a steady pace all day and average 4 km per hour.

Meeting Place and Transport: Meet adjacent to Lindfield Train Station; see above.

What to bring: Good walking shoes/boots or trainers; 1.5 litres of water, refill available along the way; hydralytes; snacks and one lunch; light rain jacket depending on conditions; sunscreen and a cap or hat with a wide brim. THERE ARE NO SHOPS AT OUR MORNING TEA OR LUNCH BREAKS, SO MEMBERS MUST BRING YOUR FOOD.

Sydney Harbour Overdose, Woolwich to Milsons Point!! 21 km

We meet at Circular Quay Ferry Wharf 5 to catch the 9:45 am ferry to Woolwich from where we begin to explore the harbour and join the Great North Walk through Hunters Hill.

From Hunters Hill we head for Burns Bay and Riverview, where we enter a delightful bush walk that leads to Central Park, Longueville, where we take our lunch break.

Following lunch, we follow a series of surprising bush tracks that lead us to Lavenders Bay, Wendy's Secret Garden and, finally Milsons Point. We conclude our day at Kirribilli Hotel for the traditional tasty beer or whatever your fancy may be.

Transport back is via trains from Milsons Point Station.

Distance: 21km

Type of Walk: This wonderful walk is harbour, harbour all the way!

Difficulty: Medium, because of the distance. If you are unsure about the distance but would like to test yourself this is a walk for you: there are plenty of get-out points.

Walking Pace: We will maintain a steady pace all day and average 4 km per hour.
