Scenic Stitches: DUMBO

Details

Join us for a lovely afternoon knitting in DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass), which has stunning views of Manhattan, cobble stone streets, tons of cafes and restaurants, and a beautiful park close to everything. It is an architecturally interesting neighborhood with former industrial buildings converted to bookstores, galleries and residences.

Meet us at the picnic tables across the carousel. Take the A or C line train and get off at the High Street-Brooklyn Bridge Station stop or the F train and get off at York street stop.

Agenda
2pm - We'll meet at tables near carousel in the park, find a spot to knit, catch up with each other for an hour or so. We'll wrap up at about 4pm. Afterwards, you can walk to nearby Woolyn, 105 Atlantic, (20 min walk or bus ride) or Brooklyn General, 128 Union, to take advantage these wonderful Local Yarn Shops.

*This is a beginner friendly group. Just let me know ahead of time so I can bring materials.

In the neighborhood:
If you get there early grab a bite at TimeOut Market, 55 Water street, which has some tasty eateries offering Japanese, Thai, Burgers, tacos and much more. If you want classic french pastries and coffee Almondine Bakery, 85 Water street, is a must. Their flaky, buttery pastries are insanely good and will transport you to Paris in one bite.
