Outdoor Badminton in Central Park, Manhattan

Welcome to our NYC Outdoor Badminton family, where everyone is welcome, whatever your age, fitness level, badminton skills, or planet of origin. We've got nets and extra rackets for you to borrow, and there will be a picnic blanket full of snacks. Bring plenty of water for hydration, energy food to keep your motor running, and sunscreen for healthy skin.

Off the top of my head, the words that describe our group are fun-loving, accepting, hilarious, respectful, safe and fartlek (meaning "speed play" in Swedish, and also, it's just a funny word. Just say it to yourself 3 times.)

All of this is free (find some other way to spend your $) but we do accept voluntary donations that help pay for shuttles, rackets and nets (Venmo: @NYCOutdoorBadminton).

Once the sun goes down, there's a free silent disco that takes place just 2 blocks away at Lincoln Center (more info). It start at 9PM. The headphones are available on a first come first serve basis, but you can reserve free tickets in advance (starting Monday 6/12 12noon) by following the link to Fast Track Tickets here.
