Skating with the Wednesday Night Skate crew

Come join for an evening of inline/roller skating around the city with a large group of skaters that meets at Union Square Park every Wednesday nights. The skate session will be led by the volunteers from the 'Wednesday Night Skate NYC' club and we will be skating with traffic throughout the city.

If you've never been to a Wednesday Night Skate session before, here's generally what to expect..
The group starts and ends at Union Square Park (by the steps on 14th Street). When the skate begins, we will all kind of scatter and skate at our own pace, with a few volunteers directing the flow of skaters and traffic. There will be multiple breaks and stopping points for us to reconnect and socialize. There's safety in numbers, most cars will slow down almost to a stop with this many skaters.

It may feel overwhelming and intimidating to skate with 50+ strangers/others, hence the reason for this Meetup. It's nice to have a small group to be familiar with within a large group of people, this would be our own little group within the giant Wednesday Night Skate group. The idea is to skate among friends, while also meeting new friends. 😁

Because we'll be completely outdoors, the skate would be weather pending. The WNS crew have a Facebook page and an Instagram page that they update on the night of, whether the skate would still be happening.
