Let's get together at 2023 CHUNCHEON DAKGALBI FESTIVAL and enjoy FREE Canoe and SUP to get the REAL CHUNCHEON experience firsthand & enjoy views of beautiful CHUNCHEON on Bukhan River!

The Chuncheon Dakgalbi Accosiation warmly invites 200 CIKers to enjoy the beauty of Chuncheon and to attend the 2023 CHUNCHEON DAKGALBI FESTIVAL.

We are looking for 150 international friends and 50 Korean friends to participate in this event! If applicants exceed the max number, preference will be given to our active participants aka our familiar faces!

Participation fee is FREE! The canoe and SUP is FREE! The food is FREE!

1 serving Dakgalbi and Canoe/SUP will be provided FREE OF CHARGE! Note that only 10 people can ride the SUP at one time, and there will be 4 teams for the canoe! That's right, wait for your turn, everybody!

Destination: 2023 Chuncheon Dakgalbi Festival & Water activity(Canoe/SUP)

When: June 17th (Sat), 10:30AM

Where to Meet: Exit 1 outside of Namchuncheon station

Our Schedule:

10:30 Meet at exit 1 outside of Namchuncheon stn and take a shuttle bus togehter.

11:00 - 13:00 Enjoy the Dakgalbi Festival and cook Dakgabi provided

13:30 - 17:50 Walk 20 min to the King canoe site in order and enjoy water activitiy

18:00 Head to Seoul

Dear CIkers!

On Sunday June 18th, we will go on a difficult but short and exciting hike at Buramsan. We will head to the top, hitting a few large, steep slabs of rock along the way up and down along on the easier path. Then we will head toward Sanggye or Danggogae on line 4. The hike takes about 4 hours depending on our pace with moderate difficulty. The hike will cover some steep and rocky terrain. There are sections involving stairs and metal handrails, so you must be careful and know your ability. It is important to wear footwear appropriate for hiking since the trail has some rocky areas. It should be a fantastic day of hiking so don`t miss this great opportunity!

Where to Meet : Taereung Station on lines 7 & 6 (stop #717 or #645), exit #7 outside ( We will take a city bus to the trail head)

Date and Time : June 18th, Sunday at 1:00pm

What to bring : Appropriate footwear for hiking (hiking boots), Extra clothing, Packed lunch to eat while hiking, Snacks, Plenty of water and etc.

Dear CIkers,

On Saturday, June 24th, Let's spend the sunset Baegundae peak hiking at Bukhansan National Park! Once on top of the mountain, you’re treated with amazing panoramic sunset views. This is a chance for you to meet other like-minded people and spend a wonderful evening on the mountain.

This hike takes roughly around 4 hours trip, depending on our own speed and ability. The trail is classified moderately difficult and has a few fun challenges along the way. Some sections of the trail are very rocky, steep and will involve stairs and handrails so you must be careful and know your ability. Also, you should still have hiking shoes since most of the trail involves climbing on rocks. It should be a fantastic day of hiking so don`t miss this great opportunity!

Where to Meet : Seoul Hiking Tourism Center(please come directly to the fifth floor of the Black Yak bldg. It is a 5 min walk from exit 2 of Ui-Bukhansan stn)

Date and Time : June 24th, Saturday at 4:30pm

Difficulty : moderate/difficult

Altitude : Baegundae Peak(836m)

Distance : about 4.2km(Baegundae information center-Baegundae peak)

Estimated trip time: 4 hours(including rest time)

Dear CIKers,

We have an amazing water activity planned for Sunday June 25th! What better way to enjoy the day than to paddle down the gorgeous Han river --City Han river Kayaking! In addition to Kayaking, our main activity, you can also enjoy SUP(stand up paddle) in between Kayaking.

Kayaking will be a lot of fun and is also a great chance to see the beautiful scenery along the Han River. Life jacket and all equipment will be provided. The life jacket must be worn at all times on the river. Please dress appropriately- nylon clothes (not cotton) and water shoes or sneakers which do not easily fall off. The instructor will provide a brief overview of paddling and safety. In total, the brief training demonstration and Kayak activity will last about 2 hours. You will probably get wet, so a towel and a change of clothes are also recommended. This will be a fun and easy trip. Beginners are welcome. It will be a fantastic night!

A few notes:

- Kayaking(SUP) and all outdoor activities are weather dependent. If its not safe, we will postpone to another day. Your safety is very important to us.

- Important: The Paddling company highly recommends taking out your own travel/accident insurance if you haven't already done so.

Where to meet - 2:00pm Ttukseom Resort Station on line 7(stn # 728), exit 2 outside / Walk together from station to Kayak/SUP site

Date - June 25th, Sunday

What to bring- suitable clothing and towel, etc.

Fee - 30,000won(Kayaking & SUP)
You will pay the full fee TO Lunaru kayak company. CIK is NOT paying for the kayak fee.

Please list your preferences on 1) a one-person Kayak or 2) 2-person Kayak. Also, indicate whether you want to participate in 3) Stand up paddle boarding (SUP).
