Program Overview:
How (the heck) did we end up here?!
Web development has changed significantly over the past 15 years, and we'll take a satirical look at how daunting it is for newcomers to get started nowadays. In doing so, we'll discuss what is necessary to build a full web application, and I will be going over most of the technology I personally like to use for that.

Speaker: Christian Ivicevic Twitter | LinkedIn | Github
Christian used to be a high school teacher and lecturer at the university before he started pursuing a career as a software engineer. Together with his team, he is racing against the JavaScript ecosystem, trying to implement support for new technologies within WebStorm.

Writing full-stack code without repeating yourself
As full-stack developers, we write a lot of duplicate and boilerplate code for everyday things such as simple database CRUD, data validation, authorization, and data-type conversions. How can we use a modern web architecture but still maintain our code DRY and increase productivity?
In this live coding session, we'll turn a front-end React app into a full-stack app with code that is easy to write, follow, and, most importantly - maintain. Using: React, node js, express, Postgres and remult.

Speaker: Noam Honig Facebook | Twitter | LinkedIn
Founder @FireflyMigration,
Volunteer full-stack developer/mentor@various NGOs,
Creator of remult

Micro Frontends in Action!
In recent years, microservices have become extremely popular. Many organisations use this type of architecture to get around the limitations of large, monolithic backends. Although much has been written about this, many companies continue to struggle with 'monolithic frontends'. In this session, Peter Eijgermans will describe a trend that breaks down 'front-end monoliths' into much smaller, more manageable pieces. And how this architecture can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of teams. Finally, he focuses on creating a Micro Frontend application with React and any other Frontend framework.Peter starts his talk with his adventure with a rhinoceros in Nepal. That's a monolith you'll need to defeat before moving on to Micro Frontends!

Speaker: Peter Eijgermans LinkedIn
Peter Eijgermans is a long-time software developer and an adventurous and passionate CodeSmith Frontend at Ordina Netherlands. He likes to travel around the world with his bike. Always seeking for the unexpected and unknown. For his job he tries out the latest techniques and frameworks. He loves to share his experience by speaking at conferences all over the World and writing for ToTheRoot Blog, DZone and the Dutch Java magazine. He believes that you as the front-end developer are the spider in the web to bring the user, the team and the product together.
